Bought a Chandelier at a Valley Store? We Hang It.

October 13, 2026 8 min read Lighting

Norem Contracting hangs chandeliers from every lighting store in the Valley. Whether it came from RH at Scottsdale Quarter, Arhaus at Biltmore, a Scottsdale lighting showroom like Hinkley's or Valley Light Gallery, a Paradise Valley antique shop or a crate from Wayfair, we assemble it, get it into the ceiling safely and hang it level, at any weight and any height. We are a licensed Arizona general contractor, ROC #365090, serving Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and the rest of the metro.

  • Experienced with the big ones. Fifteen years across the trades, and heavy designer fixtures are our specialty, up to the 184-pound Arhaus chandelier we hung in a central Phoenix dining room.
  • Reliable. We show up when we say we will, keep you posted by text, and finish the job. Licensed (AZ ROC #365090) and insured.
  • Quick quotes by text or phone. Text a photo of the ceiling and a link to the fixture to (602) 492-1815 and get a price fast, or call and talk it through.
  • Free in-person consultations. For a big fixture or a tricky ceiling we come out, look at the room and measure before you commit to anything.
  • Heavy fixtures, hung safely. When a chandelier is too heavy for the ceiling box, we open the ceiling, add blocking or a rated brace in the framing, and patch and paint it smooth afterward.
  • High ceilings and difficult spaces. Two-story foyers, stairwells, vaulted and sloped ceilings, great rooms and tight spots, worked from scaffolding or a lift instead of a stretched ladder.
  • Assembly and crystal dressing done for you. Every arm, shade and crystal strand assembled and hung by hand, the height set to the table or the room, and the fixture leveled.
  • New locations with no wiring yet. Want a chandelier where there has never been a light? We handle it, with the new wiring run by our licensed electrical partners.
  • Any store, any brand. Bought at a Scottsdale showroom, a big-box store, an antique shop or online, we install it.

Valley Lighting Stores Whose Chandeliers We Install

These are the stores Phoenix-area homeowners buy chandeliers from, and we install fixtures from all of them. We are not affiliated with any of these stores; we install what you buy there.

National designer and home stores with Valley locations

  • RH (Restoration Hardware), Scottsdale Quarter, and the RH Outlet in Chandler
  • Arhaus, Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix and Kierland Commons in Scottsdale
  • Pottery Barn, Biltmore Fashion Park, Scottsdale Quarter, Casa Paloma in Chandler, and the outlet in Goodyear

  • Visual Comfort & Co., Old Town Scottsdale
  • Lamps Plus, Scottsdale, Chandler and Peoria

Antique and vintage lighting

Vintage and antique chandeliers from Antique Trove in Scottsdale, Stuff Antiques and Camelback Antiques in Phoenix, and Chapin House and Pagoda Lane in Paradise Valley. Older fixtures are often heavier than they look and rarely come with mounting hardware, so we fit them to a modern ceiling mount.

Big-box and online

Home Depot, Lowe's, Wayfair, Amazon, Lumens, Build.com, Perigold and 1stDibs. Online orders arrive in a box or a crate with nobody to unpack them, which is where we come in.

Will the Store Install It for You?

Mostly no. Designer brands and local showrooms sell the fixture; the hanging is up to you. Arhaus's delivery crew does not unbox or install lighting, and RH, Pottery Barn and West Elm product pages call for professional installation. Lamps Plus says installation is not its responsibility.

The install services sold through big-box and online stores are built for simple swaps. Lowe's charges extra above 15-foot ceilings and won't install where there is no existing wiring. The Angi chandelier service sold through Wayfair and Walmart stops at 16-foot ceilings and does not run new wiring. Amazon's chandelier replacement listing covers ceilings under 10 feet and leaves out assembly. None of them opens or reinforces a ceiling for a heavy fixture.

That leaves the jobs the store services turn away: heavy fixtures, two-story ceilings, crystal assembly, and new locations. Those are the jobs we take.

What We Install

  • Crystal chandeliers, with every strand and drop hung by hand.
  • Large iron, wood bead and orb chandeliers from RH, Arhaus and Pottery Barn.
  • Linear chandeliers over dining tables and kitchen islands, centered and leveled.
  • Two-story ring and tiered chandeliers in foyers, great rooms and stairwells.
  • Pendant clusters and island pendants, spaced and set to the same height.
  • Outdoor lanterns and patio chandeliers under covered patios and ramadas.
  • Restored antique fixtures fitted to modern ceiling hardware.

Heavy Chandeliers Need More Than the Ceiling Box

A standard ceiling box is built to hold a 50-pound fixture. Many of the chandeliers sold at Valley showrooms weigh more than that, and the brands' own instructions say heavier fixtures need support from the framing above the ceiling. We open the drywall, add blocking or a rated brace, fasten the mount into the framing, then patch, texture and paint the ceiling to match.

On our 184-pound Arhaus Delsie job in central Phoenix the existing box was rated for 50 pounds, so we built blocking around a duct in the ceiling cavity, fastened a steel plate to it, and hung the fixture with a three-person crew. The full story is in who hangs a heavy RH, Arhaus or Pottery Barn chandelier in Phoenix.

High Ceilings and Hard-to-Reach Spots

Phoenix and Scottsdale new builds are full of 18- to 20-foot foyers and great rooms. A heavy fixture at that height goes up from a rolling scaffold tower or a scissor lift, not a stretched extension ladder. We hung a two-story ring chandelier in a North Scottsdale custom home from scaffolding, raised on its cables with the rings still wrapped.

Stairwells, sloped and vaulted ceilings, and fixtures over a stair landing each need their own setup. Send a photo and we'll tell you how we would reach it.

What It Costs

A swap onto a sound box with existing wiring, for a fixture under 50 pounds, runs about $150 to $300. A heavy chandelier runs about $400 to $1,500 or more when a rated brace can carry it at a standard ceiling height, and about $1,000 to $3,500 or more on a high ceiling that has to be opened, blocked and patched. Our 184-pound Arhaus install, with the full ceiling scope, came to $2,900 over two days. A text with a photo and the product link gets you a real number for your fixture.

How a Job Goes

  1. Text or call. Send a ceiling photo and the fixture link to (602) 492-1815. We reply with a quote, or set up a free in-person consultation for a big job.
  2. Check the fixture and the ceiling. We confirm the weight from the spec sheet and what the existing box and framing can carry.
  3. Schedule after delivery. Leave the crate sealed until install day so the store's return window stays open while you decide.
  4. Assemble. Arms, shades, crystals and chain, put together on a drop cloth in the room.
  5. Reinforce if needed. Blocking or a rated brace in the framing for anything over the box rating.
  6. Connect and hang. Electrical work is handled by our licensed electrician partners where the job calls for it. The fixture goes up, gets leveled and is set to the right height.
  7. Finish and clean up. Ceiling patch, texture and paint, crystals wiped, packaging cleared.

Questions About Chandelier Installation in Phoenix

Do you install chandeliers bought from any store?

Yes. Norem Contracting installs chandeliers and pendants bought anywhere: RH, Arhaus, Pottery Barn, West Elm, Crate & Barrel, Visual Comfort, Lamps Plus, Hinkley's, Valley Light Gallery, Premier Lighting, Lightform, Home Depot, Lowe's, Wayfair, Amazon, antique shops and estate sales. We serve Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and the rest of the Valley.

Will the store install my chandelier?

Usually not. Most Valley lighting stores and designer brands sell the fixture and leave the installation to you. The big-box and online install services that do exist mostly limit ceiling height, leave out new wiring, and do not open or reinforce a ceiling. A heavy fixture, a high ceiling or a new location needs a licensed contractor.

How fast can I get a quote?

Text a photo of the ceiling and a link to the fixture to (602) 492-1815, or call. Most fixtures can be priced from that. For a heavy fixture or a two-story ceiling we offer a free in-person consultation.

Can you install a chandelier where there is no light now?

Yes. If there is no box or wiring where you want the chandelier, we handle the job, and the new wiring is run by our licensed electrical partners. We do the ceiling work, reinforcement, patch and paint, and the hang.

Do you assemble crystal chandeliers?

Yes. Crystal fixtures ship with the crystals packed separately, sometimes several hundred of them. We assemble the frame, hang every strand by hand and clean off fingerprints before we leave.
